Brenda and I are not friends. She is one of the “popular” girls. Although, unlike the other girls she hangs out with (I won't name names) she is very nice and respectful to me. She always says hi and doesn't hesitate to start some small talk. She is a very sweet and genuine person. However, I've been hearing lots of rumors that she is bulimic. I did not believe any of them until last week when I walked in on her in the bathroom in Leutze Hall and heard her puking. She said that she was just sick but two seconds later I saw her running around and laughing it up with her friends. I've heard her friends talking about her and her eating disorder like it's no big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL! I wish that I knew Brenda enough to say something to her and convince her to get help because her friends obviously aren't going to do it. But we barely know each other and I don't think it's my place to say anything. I really hope that Brenda reads this and it encourages her to get help.
keira, all: it's not that easy. once a woman had crossed the line into Bulimia or Anorexia it has affected her mental health and she needs professional help. Even with professional help Bulimics/Anorexics often relapse.
tell her to stop being suck a try hard. she should be herself even if it means her gaining a bit of weight.. she should loose it the old fashion way... its called EXERCISE
She is in hell I promise you. Say something! Be a friend! Is that so hard? Get information on Bulimia and talk to her. She is dieing a slow death to be thin.
Its probably not your place b/c she doesn't know you very well and she might just blow you off but ur right - someone def. needs to say something to her.
