FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
DR. PHIL SAYS "NO"; MILLIONS SAY "YES" TO GOSSIP

Wilmington, NC (1/21/08) - Dr. Phil doesn't care for GossipReport.com. He called it a website where, "No one is safe, not even you!" Evidently, millions of people felt safe enough to try their luck. So much so, they crashed the servers at GossipReport.com trying to get glimpses of America's newest guilty pleasure.

Elizabeth Bloch, Director of Media Relations for GossipReport.com, appeared on the Dr. Phil Show on Monday to defend the site against Dr. Phil's rant that called the site "malicious" where people constantly "dogged" each other. The comments came after the host of the show, Dr. Phil McGraw, who has become famous and wealthy for airing scandalous stories, opened the show by apologizing for "dogging" Britney Spears to the paparazzi and national media after visiting her in a mental health facility. The comments about the site were followed by nearly a million and a half hits to GossipReport.com.

"We’re proud of GossipReport.com," continues Ms. Bloch, "If the site had been around maybe someone would have warned the world about Seung-Hui Cho and the massacre at Virginia Tech might not have happened. Someday, it will keep someone from going on a blind date with a rapist or could thwart a modern day Jack-the-Ripper. Gossip is an important part of our society. It's our social police force. GossipReport.com is a better way to do what everybody does."

GossipReport.com is a website that encourages its members to create profiles like most social networking sites. Unlike those sites, however, members on GossipReport.com don't create the profiles to talk about themselves; they create them anonymously to talk about other people - a reverse of MySpace.

Launched in June 2007 by a group of fun loving "twenty-somethings," the site has become known for edgy content and wild parties. GossipReport.com entertains visitors with such content sections as the "G Spot," "G Strings" and even a "G Score" page where visitors to the site can rate people in three categories: personality, looks and their prowess in bed. "Gossip has been around for thousands of years," explains Ms. Bloch, "It's how societies have shaped and policed their social behavior. After all, who doesn’t wish everyone came with an 'in bed' score?"
