Frequently Asked Questions

For detailed definitions of site descriptions, visit the WWGD tab located at the top of every page.

1. Q: How do I create my profile?

A: You don't. GossipReport.com is not like other social networking sites because you don't create a profile about yourself. Instead, you create G Strings about other people.

2. Q: How can I remove gossip that someone else posted about me?

A: You can't. It is up to the community to decide how to rate gossip by tagging it as Hot and Juicy, BS, Funny, True, or Not Gossip and by rating the Mouth that wrote the gossip. If a piece of Gossip is rated "Trashy" by a number of users then the system will delete the Gossip. If a Mouth is rated low enough the system can delete them as well.

However, if we receive many alerts on a specific Thread, we will review the gossip and remove it if it violates our Terms and Conditions. After a pre-determined allotment of time, gossip will be removed from the site so that gossip will not follow a person forever.

3. Q: How can I remove gossip I posted?

A: If you regret a piece of Gossip you have written you can simply click the "delete" link and it will be removed from the site.

You do have the option to click an “I'm sorry” icon on Gossip that you wrote, which are listed on your My Profile page. This icon is displayed on the Gossip that you wrote to symbolize that you want to apologize for what you posted. If you apologize for your gossip, you will lose all of the G

Money that you earned for that Thread.

Again, after a pre-determined allotment of time, gossip will be removed from the site so that gossip will not follow a person forever.

4. Q: How do I gossip about someone?

A: After searching, if you cannot find the person you are looking for, you can click on the “Add a G String” button. Here, you will be prompted to fill out a G Profile and upload a photo of the person.

5. Q: I want to join the site but I don't have a code. How can I get one?

A: Currently, every Member has to receive an invite code to join GossipReport.com. To get a code, you must find a Member who can give you their code (see question 6), get a code at one of our Gossip Parties or use the default "GoGossip" code listed on the Registration Page. Check the G Party tab located at the top of every page to find out when we are having our next party.

6. Q: What can I do with my invite code?

A: If you received a green invite code at a Gossip Party and you have a .edu e-mail address, then you have a multi-use code. You can use it to invite other students to join the site, but they must use the same code to join. We are having an ongoing contest throughout the summer and the Member who passes their code to the most students will win $500 at the end of our launch period.

If you received a blue invite code at a Gossip Party, then you have a single-use code and it can only be used once.

Keep your blue or green invite codes for entrance to our Gossip Parties and for more chances to win free stuff!

7. Q: Why doesn't my invite code work?

A: If you receive an “invalid invite code” error when registering, your code may not work for two reasons. First, you may have received a single-use invite code that has already been used. you can use our default code- "GoGossip"

8. Q: What is a G Party?

A: We have a ton of Gossip Parties planned in order to give guests invite codes to join GossipReport.com and to answer any questions they have about the site. Try to attend our Gossip Parties to get an invite code, free drinks, free GossipReport.com merchandise, and a chance to win cool prizes! Click the G Party tab located at the top of every page for the dates of our next parties and to see pictures from our Gossip Parties.

If you already have a blue or green invite code, you are still welcome to come to our parties! Bring your code card for a chance to win more free stuff!

9. Q: What is G Money and how do I earn or lose it?

A: G Money is the GossipReport.com currency which, in the future, can be used to purchase additional file space, G String customizations, and/or other GossipReport.com features and services.

You can earn G Money in various ways including:

  • Other Members tagging your Thread as Hot and Juicy, Funny, or True

  • Hot and Juicy, Funny, or True Tags on Threads within a G String you created

  • Your Thread hitting the G Spot

  • Answering Login questions

  • Inviting a friend to GossipReport.com (and they join)

Be careful with what you post, because you can also lose G Money in the following ways:

  • Other Members tagging your Thread as BS, Trashy or Not Gossip

  • BS, Trashy or Not Gossip Tags on Threads within a G String you created

10. Q: How do I search for someone?

A: Click the Search tab located at the top of every page. Here, you can search for a person by their name, group (city, state, employer, fraternity, etc.), or by their G String ID.

11. Q: Can other Members figure out who I am?

A: You can remain anonymous in two ways. First, when you choose a screen name, you should choose one that does not reveal your identity. This screen name is the name that will appear everywhere you post public material on GossipReport.com (except in a G String you create).

Second, when you create a G String on someone, you are identified as the String Leader every time you post in that G String.

GossipReport.com will not disclose any Members' e-mail addresses nor do we ask you for your real name.

12. Q: What stops Members from saying harmful things about others?

A: We cannot prevent Members from saying harmful things, just as you cannot prevent people from gossiping behind your back.

However, we have added Tags to each Thread. With Tags, you can reward or punish the Mouth for the gossip they write. The Mouth is rewarded for good gossip with G Money if you tag the gossip as Hot and Juicy, Funny, or True. The Mouth is punished for bad gossip by losing G Money if you tag their gossip as Trashy, BS or Not Gossip. You can also rate the Mouth on a scale of 1 to 10; 1 being a Foulmouth and 10 being a Trusted Source. All Members have the ability to view each Mouth's rating.

If Members consistently Alert us about content, we will review the Mouth's gossip and that Member may be banned from the site.

13. Q: What kind of gossip is not permitted on GossipReport.com?

A: Violent/threatening comments, advertising, bigotry/racism, copyrighted material, illegal activity, pornography, and disclosure of someone's personal information such as their phone number or address is not permitted on GossipReport.com Members should Alert us by clicking “Alert GossipReport.com” on that Thread if the gossip contains such content. The Thread will then be reviewed and possibly deleted.

14. Q: Who can read gossip?

A: Anyone can read gossip but you must be a Member to rate, tag or Chatter about any gossip.

15. Q: Can I gossip with only my friends?

A: Yes. You have the ability to gossip with only Members that you choose by creating Private G Strings and Private Threads. In these Strings and Threads, Members will be identified by their Private Alias. A Private Alias is a name which reveals your identity (for example, John Doe may select a Private Alias of John D., a name that other Members can recognize). Other Members can see that gossip exists, but they cannot read the content.

16. Q: What can I do with my Groups?

A: All Groups are private, so you can use them to post Private Threads in Public G Strings. These Threads are hidden from Members not in your Group.

17. Q: How do I create a Group?

A: You can create Private Groups in your Member Profile. To do this, you must learn the Private Alias of the Members you want to add. This can be done verbally outside of the site. You can then add the Private Aliases of people you want to include to that Group.

To join a Group, the Group Leader must add your Private Alias name to their Group.

18. Q: What is the difference between a Private Thread and a Private G String?

A: Private G Strings are G Strings that only Members that the String Leader has given permission to can see. They are a place to get together with your friends and gossip with complete privacy. When searching, other Members can see they exist, but will never know what kind of gossip is being posted in them. If you don't feel like starting an entire Private G String on someone, but still want to gossip privately, you can post a Private Thread. Private Threads are located in Public G Strings, but only Members that are in your Groups can see and read them.

19. Q: How does my gossip hit the G Spot?

A: If a thread you created has the most Hot and Juicy, Funny, and True tags, then that gossip will hit the G Spot.

20. Q: Can I delete my account?

A: Yes. To delete your account, go to the My Profile tab located at the top of every page. Here, click “edit profile” and delete your account. By deleting your account, you will delete all Threads you have posted and erase all G Money you have earned.
