Can you believe that 2009 is this week? Where did all the time go. As a lot of you probably did, I spent A LOT of time with the fam this last week. And the fam friends. And the in-laws. Lots of them. And once again - it was some nonstop talk about this person, that cousin, my Aunt’s new haircut and how it makes her face look fat, how my brother got arrested a month ago, how my Uncle-In-Law got drunk Christmas Eve and cussed out a room of 20 relatives…… you get the idea.

I wish I could say this was a unique year where everything was crazy in everyone’s life around me, but then I would be lying. This is every year. I wish I knew what they were saying about me when I was out of the room - but I’m sure I don’t want to know anyway and besides, I’m sure it was nothing but nice, right?

Obviously, I come from a long line of gossip-lovers. I’m the first to really make something of it, but I am by no means the best, most productive, or most long lived gossip on my family tree. I really think that the older we get, the more we love to gossip and the more we do it. Only, as we get older, we don’t say we’re”gossiping,” we’re just chatting with our friends from church. We’re just talking to our sister about our cousin. We’re just listening to Mom tell us how the neighbors have Naked Sunday’s and don’t close the blinds. Ummmmm guess what?

IT’S STILL GOSSIP PEOPLE!

So I make a point not to hate - but to APPRECIATE the finely tuned tradition of gossip that I learned MOSTLY from my family. And if you think about it, I’ll bet you have some pretty similar experiences as me. Am I right? Or am I right? Or am I right, right, right?

Hope you all got what you wanted for the holiday’s - no matter what you’re celebrating or who you were with, I hope it was as juicy and salacious as you could ever want:)

So I was at a holiday party this weekend like probably a lot of people were and I realized that OMFG all these drunken crazies are gonna be blabbin day and night for the next week (or year or two if you’re talking about me and my shenanigans) about all the loco stuff going on here!

Examples:

1. Old dude was getting down on the dance floor like there was no tomorrow to some “Gettin’ Jiggy With It.”

2.Soul train line (started by me) with about 30 some odd people gyrating in pairs.

3. Married with kids people grinding on each other like they’re tryin’ to make babies on the spot.

Point 1: This is freaking awesome.

Point 2: I have never heard more gossip in my life! Seriously - all day today all I have heard about is who did what with who and when and why. Fights - dancing to Thriller - Cabbage Patch-off’s - I mean EVERYTHING. This is almost the whole point of a holiday party - to actually just act like an idiot and get to gossip about it for a while to spice things up in the office!

You know you gossip at work. I know I do. I mean - gossip is my work - but you know what I mean!

So - what happened at your party? You don’t ever want to forget these precious memories DO YOU? Well GossipReport is the place to get your gossip on at work or at home and no one even has to know it’s you - unless you want them to! Get your people to get in on the action too - you know you love it! It’s so much more fun than WORKING!

So frickin’ sweet news. We got mentioned in Reader’s Digest this month! Okay, okay, so maybe the majority of readers are a little order than a lot of you - but I know that a lot of you using GR.com are Baby Mama’s, Baby Daddy’s and Grand-parents (not sure the lingo for that one - (?Grand-Baby-Mama/Daddy?). Anyways - it’s pretty cool and it means we’re all making a difference out there! They’re hatin a bit - but what else is new. People still want to think there is not good in GossipReport (which we all know isn’t true). Check it before you wreck it:

Also, an author called me to get some ideas about a book he’s writing about the internet today. So I’m not sure when that’s coming out, but I’ll let you know. I think it’s some time in ‘09. But I was flattered!

So the holidays are coming and you’re all gonna probably see some fam. If your family is anything like my family, there’s gonna be some drama, some whispers, and maybe a blow up or two. Remember - GossipReport is THE place to vent.

There’s a ton of articles with these people saying that gossip is a good thing - but somehow - that news gets kind of buried.

My guess - from personal experience - is that haters like to preted there is no other side to the gossip coin. They want to say how bad it is - they want to tell us not to do it. Sorry, but I’m more inclined top take a really educated, well known doctor for their word instead of some small minded, not open to new ideas, wants to make claims they have no way to back up person.

Here’s a new - frickin’ awesome - article about, once again, let’s say it all together, gossip is a good thing! Scientific American is no joke people! Check out some really smart opinions about gossip.

Come on now haters - take your hands off your ears, open your eyes, and get on the gossip train baby because you’re missing out on some yummy, tasty, healthy gossip! Ha!

You have to hit PUBLISH after you review the gossip you wrote or it won’t go live - that could be the reason there is gossip missing! Not only is your gossip not being seen and heard - but you could be missing out on GR.com upgrades that are earned by doing stuff on the site.

You can tag gossip, rate gossip, G Rate, chatter, write or do anything else on the site to earn upgrades! Along those same lines - people who write gossip that ends up on the G Spot or on the Home Page earn extra!

I missed you sooo much!! Our blog has been dead for WAY too long and we FINALLY got it all figured out and brought it back to life! So now I’m back and better than ever:) And I have so much to tell about since I’ve been MIA!

You all know I HEART talking - I can’t shut up! And lucky me, quite a few people have been giving me the chance to hear my own voice on air! I was on in Colorado Springs - KKMG 2 weeks ago and I talked w/ T.Bubba - a very funny dood - down in Pensacola on 1620AM. I talked with WATD in MA for the second time, and I’m gonna be on Atlanta’s funniest morning show on WKLS sometime this week! So if you’re in the ATL area make sure you tune in to 96.1 all week and try to catch the interview. It was crazy to say the least.

Okay I gotta run but I’ll be back. Hopefully the blog is good to go forever now!

So the writer, Gene, doesn’t have a whole lot of nice things to say, but when has that ever been a surprise? Like I always say, people like to PRETEND they don’t gossip, don’t love it, and they don’t want to see any other point of view. I didn’t really get a chance to explain things to Gene, he made up his own mind which is cool - although I disagree! At least he gave some of you a shout-out by publishing the gossip you wrote!

Since you get the value of good gossip - and by good I mean real and relevant - not nasty name-calling that doesn’t serve much as a communication tool - I think we should let Gene know that there are people out there who get that Lies and Lying for the sake being mean and nasty is not what GossipReport is about. Gene had his friends write some really crazy stuff about him and he calls that lying….. I just thought it was funny! And who cares if people use GossipReport to have fun - it’s supposed to be fun! I want you to have fun! Gene is doing us all a favor by showing people that gossip can be a fun time:)

I did some pretty cool interviews this week! I’ll let you know who/where/what/when as soon as the articles get printed. Hopefully it’ll all be pretty soon! So many times I’ve talked to people and they tell me, “Yes, we will definitely be doing an interview with you tomorrow…” and then they cancel the next day. That’s mostly TV though and these interviews were for newspapers so I feel pretty hopeful.

Speaking of which - did you check out some of the interviews on the press page? What do ya think? I’ll try and let you know before I’m on air and then you can call in and we’ll pull a “Gossipers Unite!”

I can’t stop thinking about the weekend. It’s about 90 right now and all I wanna do is be on the beach! Time to go off and daydream……

I’m sure you can all relate to me right about now. I get to pretty much be my own boss since I am one of the creators and all that – there’s only one problem – I don’t have any money! Which means GossipReport gets to keep going by the generosity and funding from others; which is cool but it also means I have to do what they say – usually if I like it or not. Soooo frustrating.

I think it’s so important for me to have a relationship with you. I need to know your thoughts and your feelings about GossipReport and the only way for me to do that is to blog to you and then hear your comments.

Apparently – some people don’t agree. Not to name names, but someone out there thinks that my time could be better spent on trying to get people to talk to me in places other than this blog. But you know what – I’m saying DOWN with the Man! I’m gonna blog as much as I damn well please. I think it’s that important. And I like it. So there.

Imagine this: Every day you have to try to make people understand that gossip is good – which you know - but a lot of people out there are haters and don’t want to hear it. So I totally rely on you to keep me going because I know you’re not a small-minded meany-face (I just censored myself…) who want to pretend like they don’t gossip – YEAH RIGHT!

Do you agree? I’m sure I’ll be hearing about this little rant but I don’t really care right now. I’ll keep you posted on if I get in trouble:)

I’m not really a liquor drinker but the weather was awesome, the margaritas were flowin, and after a few of those it’s all down hill. So shots – not sure how many – ensue and I remember (oops) that I have some mortars and other colorful explosive devices left over from my b-day. I volunteer this to the manly men hanging out and in all of about ummmm 7.6 minutes there was a full on roman candle war.

Can’t picture this? Think of about 5 20-something drunk guys shooting flaming balls at each other at a close range. Genius. The best response from anyone was “Look out!” and “Get him!”

Along with some grilling and some pretty cool fireworks (only one blew up at us – I think that’s pretty good odds for the mental capacities of those shooting them off) some full out – 80’s themed karaoke followed with required dancing. P.S. - be glad my sound clips on the press page are me speaking instead of singing. If you had to listen to my musical attempts – you would probably go deaf. Or wish you were. It’s that bad:)
